Techno-economic Feasibility

Go / no-go: a feasibility study is only valuable if it enables a decision. We build studies in which market, process, capacity, costs and risks are consistent with one another — and every assumption can be traced.

The decision we support

Is the project technically feasible and economically viable — at what capacity, with which technology, and for what investment?

02

Questions we answer

  • Which process should be selected, and why? Which alternatives were ruled out?
  • What capacity, and what ramp-up profile?
  • Which equipment, which potential suppliers, what lead times?
  • Which site, which utilities (power, water, logistics)?
  • What CAPEX and OPEX, and at what level of accuracy?
  • What technical, commercial, regulatory and environmental risks?
03

Our approach

  • Product definition and specifications, driven by market requirements.
  • Process design: process flow diagram (PFD), mass balances, equipment selection.
  • Consultation of suppliers and engineering firms to firm up assumptions.
  • Plot plan, utilities, staffing and organisation.
  • CAPEX and OPEX estimates, sensitivity analysis, risk register.
  • Development schedule and recommendations for the next studies (FEED, ESIA).

Deliverables

  • Full feasibility study with sourced assumptions.
  • PFD, mass balances and main equipment list.
  • Conceptual plot plan.
  • CAPEX / OPEX estimate (AACE Class 4 to 5 accuracy, depending on project maturity).
  • Risk register and development schedule.
05

When to call us

  • The opportunity has been qualified and you must decide whether to fund the next studies.
  • An investor or bank requires a study before reviewing the file.
  • Several technologies or suppliers compete and a choice has to be made.

How we work

AxenCor leads the study and is accountable for its overall consistency. Specialist technical data comes from equipment suppliers, engineering firms and laboratories, and is referenced in the study.
